Northrop Auditorium seating chart

Before you purchase your Northrop Auditorium tickets you may want to have a copy of your Northrop Auditorium seating chart so you are aware of where your Northrop Auditorium tickets are located.

The Northrop Auditorium holds a whopping 4800 people - which is almost double of the Orpheum Theater. The State Theater and Pantages Theater hold only around 1000 people.

Although when a lot of people think of the Northrop Auditorium they think of all the different concerts they have attended there, the Northrop also has a distinguished presence around the University. The Northrop hosts graduation ceremonies for all schools at the University of Minnesota. Also, the Northrop Auditorium hosts several events for the University like conferences lectures from renowed authors and artists. The Northrop has hosted lectures from T.S. Eliot and Robert Frost.

Ground broke on the Northrop Auditorium in 1928. The site that it is now on used to be the College of Pharmacy's garden. The Northrop Dance seasons are very important to the history of the auditorium. The first dance season began in 1970-71 with the Northrop's commitment to be a premier international ballet and contemporary, national, and cultural dance venues.

If you are on the U of MN campus the Northrop Auditorium is a beautiful building that is worthy of a tour. The Northrop Auditorium's history is shown throughout the entire building, every renovation takes special steps to preserve the rich and historic setting of the Northrop Auditorium building.
