Looking for something free and cheap to do this summer?

If you are like a lot of people in this economy, finding something cheap do to can be a struggle sometimes. Movies get expensive, concerts can break the bank, and it all gets to be over whelming sometimes. But the Northrop is putting on a series of concerts all summer that are FREE! Northrop Auditorium tickets are not needed for this event. All of the concerts are outside in the courtyard, which as you may know over looks the mall area on the University of Minnesota campus. In case of rain, however, the concert will be moved inside.
June 15th with the New Primitives will be the official kick off party for the summer concert series. This particular date will feature complimentary refreshments, Jimmy Johns and ice cream (however, quantities are limited).
Here are a list of the upcoming free Northrop Auditorium shows in June:
11 Michael Hauser and A Touch of Spain
15 New Primitives
16 France Has the Bomb
17 Summit Ave.
18 Kristoff Krane
19 De Visa Musical Troupe
22 Café Accordion
23 Lynhurst
24 Charanga Tropical
25 The New Music Machine

The shows start at noon and continue until 1pm. The festival celebrates Northrop Auditorium's 55th Anniversary. Shows go through the end of July and they are all F-R-E-E!!
